The Minister of Aviation, Mr. Joseph Kofi Addah, has given the assurance that the Wa Airport ,is expected to be opened for commercial flights by Africa World Airlines (AWA) on October 15, 2019.
Mr. Kofi Addah gave the assurance after he led a team to inspect the airport.
The airport is situated at a unique location, that requires a pragmatic approach to make it effectively functional.
Aviation Minister, Joseph Kofi Adda, made the announcement in a statement dated September 4, 2019.
The statement indicated that the move was part of government’s commitment to promote seamless air travel in the country.
It said commencement of the commercial flight operations is due to the successful testing and confirmation of the Pavement Condition Number (PCN) of the runway and other facilities that meet international standards of safety.
